Every Thanksgiving, people travel home to family, friends, and good food. Gathered around the dinner table we reflect on the provisions and blessings of the year. This simple, nature inspired centerpiece will set the spirit of thankfulness at your harvest table this Thanksgiving.
Count Your Blessings Thanksgiving Gourd Centerpiece
1 long, woven breadbasket
8 ears of Indian corn
1 large, dried gourd
Marker, thick tipped
Decorative ribbon in autumn colors
Mini wreath or napkin ring made of natural materials (Make your own honeysuckle vine napkin ring )
Sprigs of Pyracanthas berries or mum flowers to match the ribbon colors
Once guests arrive, write the names of people and things that you are the most thankful for on the gourd. Encourage each family member and guest present to write one thing he or she is thankful for on the gourd.
Display the gourd basket arrangement in the center of your harvest table. We flanked ours with oil lamps for an antique, country look. Old Currier and Ives calendar placemats completed our vintage country home tablescape.
Wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving!
